Volunteer groups and individuals are invited to A Little Help’s fall Service Saturday, Oct. 13, 8a.m.-noon, based at Kirk of Bonnie Brae, 1201 S. Steele St.

Trained leaders take small groups out to tackle home maintenance jobs, cleaning, organizing, raking and other household tasks requested by seniors in south central Denver. Call for details and to RSVP.

Assistance League of Denver hosts Hospitality House, a variety of fun activities for seniors including crafts, live entertainment, bingo, movies and a book club, complemented with popcorn, candy and home-cooked lunches. Held at the Bosworth House, 1400 Josephine St., every Wednesday: Sept. 5, Crafts/Movie with light lunch, 10:30a.m.; 12, Big Luncheon with live entertainment by local artists, noon (RSVP to 303-439-7554); 19, Book Club, 10:30a.m. (bring your lunch); 26, lunch and Bingo with prizes, noon. If you are 55 and older and want to give back to the community through volunteer activities, consider RSVP, a Volunteers of America program that pairs volunteers with 80+ agencies in Denver, Douglas and western Arapahoe counties.

Washington Street Community Center provides lots of services and a gathering place for children and adults of all ages at 809 S. Washington St.
     Enjoy a walk in good company each Monday, 8:30a.m. – rain or shine – with the WSCC Walking Club. Meet at Wash Park Boathouse for a walk and interval exercises. Seniors especially welcome. Senior exercise programs are every Tuesday and Thursday, 9-11a.m. Senior Luncheons held every Tuesday at noon, $6 nonmembers.
     Free bingo game, with prizes, immediately after lunch the fourth week of the month. Senior Book Club gathers to parse paperbacks on select Fridays, 11a.m., in the Dining Hall. Suggestions for future reading welcome.
