West Washington Park

A tip of The Profile stub hat goes out to State Farm Insurance maven Barb Frank, 261 S. Downing St., celebrating 11 years of easing the minds and sealing up the loopholes for Denver residents.

Ms. Frank took over her practice – once the bailiwick of Sandy Clark – on July 1, 2001. Her office was then tucked in the corner of the Ala-Down Shoppette in the space now held by Washington Park Travel. A few years back, Frank had the chance to move into a larger, more visible spot across the street and jumped at the chance.

If you’ve a need for any type of insurance: auto, homeowners, etc. – or other financial services – you can reach Barb Frank State Farm Insurance at 303-777-4989 or visit barbfrank.com.

West Wash Park tavern-goers bid a hearty welcome last month to Finley’s Pub, the latest resident of 375 S. Pearl St., former home of La Brisa Mexican Restaurant.

Owner Peter Van Itallie has created a traditional Irish pub, featuring hearty brew and a creative take on classic Irish comfort food with a Cajun twist, thanks to kitchen guru Bentley Folse, who hails from New Orleans and was a former lead line cook at Trillium.

You can opt for such dishes as the Shepherd’s Pie Croquettes (with Guinness gravy) or  Atlantic Salmon Fish & Chips; or take the more refined route with a Spinach Quinoa Salad; a Finley Caprese sandwich (fresh buffalo mozzarella/herb roasted tomato/fresh basil/black pepper) or the like.

Finley’s Pub is open for lunch/ dinner daily, 11:30a.m.-midnight, and until 2a.m. on weekends. Info: 303-282-5363.
