Cherry Creek Arts, July 6-8

The Cherry Creek Arts Festival returns for its 22nd annual run Fri.-Sun., July 6-8.

DENVER ARTIST MARTIN LAMBUTH WAS SELECTED AS ONE OF THE EIGHT EMERGING ARTISTS to be featured at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF), July 6-8, on the streets of Cherry Creek North. Referring to his style as “Random acts of paint,” Lambuth’s works are painted primarily with credit cards. His CCAF presentation will focus on a series of images of vintage trucks.

A compelling blend of the visual culinary and performing arts, the 2012 CCAF includes 236 juried and eight emerging artists selected from over 2,000 applicants. Painting, glass, ceramics, digital art, photography, sculpture and much more provide a nearly overwhelming visual feast for the 350,000 visitors expected throughout the event.

The CCAF also provides an interactive element for wanna-be artistes. Artivity Avenue challenges your entire family to show off their inner Picasso by lending a hand to the Imagination Collaboration mural, while Creation Station entertains and educates young ones with a variety of hands-on art projects.

Foodies take heart! Some of Denver’s favorite restaurants will set up along Culinary Avenue, to sate your hunger and quench your thirst, while the Culinary Stage hosts chef demonstrations showing you how the masters create those dishes you savor.

Is Culinary Avenue threatening to distort your waistline? Never fear. The Art of Fitness presents Festival Mornings encouraging patrons to try out new and fun ways to stay fit. Workshops will include a variety of fitness options and take place on St. Paul St. from 9-10:30a.m. each day of the festival.

Need a break from the browsing, and feel like carousing? Live music and dance will keep the Janus Plaza Stage (Fillmore St., between 1st & 2nd Ave.) and the Beer Garden Stage (St. Paul St., between 2nd & 3rd) jumping throughout the Festival. The Beer Garden Stage will also offer later-night fun, 8-10p.m. on July 7-8.
