It’s not hard to see where the legendary “Freshman 15” (we’re talking weight gain here) comes from.

With some two dozen dining spots within a short walk of campus, it’s a minor miracle that University of Denver students don’t turn that into the “Annual 25.”

Well, as they say, “the more the merrier.” Sandwich lovers will be pleased to know that the “sammy” specialists at Snarf’s have opened their latest Denver location on the western edge of the DU campus, at 1729 E. Evans Ave., just west of Noodles & Company.

Born in 1996 on Pearl Street in Boulder, Snarf’s now offers up its menu of sandwiches, salads and sides at 11 Front Range locations, as well as two in Chicago and one in St. Louis.

Snarf’s “World Famous Toasted Sandwiches” are served in 5-, 7- and 12-inch sizes. The two dozen offerings include a full range of carnivorous and vegetarian offerings. A half dozen Snarf’s salads give a further nod to the health conscious.

Snarf’s opens Mon.-Fri. at 8a.m., Sat.-Sun. at 9a.m. Food is served until midnight Sun.-Wed., and 2a.m., Thur.-Sat. For info, call 303-777-1664 or visit eatsnarfs.com.
