Lewark Finds Life’s Essential Energy Between The Bones | Print |  E-mail

In Mary Lynn Lewark’s recent multi-media show “Silent Move,” a contemporary woman symbolically attempts to juggle her choices, performing a dance atop four different boxes. “It’s a play on the Rose Adagio in (the ballet) Sleeping Beauty,” says Lewark, founder of the Denver contemporary movement cooperative Between the Bones, “in which the princess tries to decide which suitor to choose. But for today’s woman, it’s – which things will I have to juggle today? Here we are with all this freedom, but it can be exhausting. We think we can do everything, and we try, but it’s hard to juggle it all.”
