There can be no doubt that Denver – the Mile High City, Queen City of the Plains – is a great place to live.

     But since Federico Peña raised the mantra, “Imagine A Great City” in his 1983 mayoral campaign, devoted Denverites from all sectors of our community have debated about what – if anything – we need to do better, to earn a place in the international roster of “great” cities like Chicago, New York, San Francisco, London, Paris and other noteworthy locales.

It Could Be A Stellar Year For Ruby Hill Snow | Print |  E-mail

With help from Mother Nature and hard-working snowmaking machines from Winter Park Resort, the Ruby Hill Rail Yard should open to urban snowboarders and skiers for its ninth season by mid-January at the latest. The Rail Yard terrain is in Ruby Hill Park at W. Florida Ave. and S. Platte River Dr., open to the public daily from 5a.m.-9p.m.
