RTD’S FASTRACKS TRANSIT EXPANSION PROJECT PROMISES 122 MILES OF NEW RAIL LINES, 18 miles of Bus Rapid Transit, a dramatic revitalization of the Downtown Union Station, and extensions to several existing light rail corridors. The combination of a stagnant economy and increasing costs of construction have left the project’s managers scrambling for financing options that will allow the project to proceed to completion by 2019.
